Thanks Mike,

Your session 7:
Philip Wright was an excellent suggestion and has said yes. I'm going to
send him an e-mail with the biogs/summaries for his session later. I'm not
sure if you want to get in touch with him now or at the meeting
(philip.wright@scotland.gsi.gov.uk, 0131 244 0193). I'll copy you in anyway.

We have finally got an NGO to speak in the communicating climate science
session. We sent FoE countless e-mails/phone calls etc but Steve Sawyer
(Greenpeace International - +31 653504715, ssawyer@ams.greenpeace.org)
registered at the last minute and I've talked him in to speaking. Just need
to keep him apart from the Esso people that are attending! Again, I said I'd
e-mail him later today to confirm and I'll copy you in. I've told him that
he just has to stand up for 5 mins and talk about what their considerations
are when they communicate climate change science during their campaigns. He
will be around for most of the meeting so you could catch up with him then
if you don't want to/don't need to e-mail him before. We don't have a
summary from Roger Harrabin so I can't tell him what is being said before
his bit.

Dinner on the 13th:
I've looked at trains for you. You can leave Liverpool St at 20:30 arr 22:22
or 21:30 arr 23:20. I'm not sure how long it takes from here to Liverpool St
- you will know better that I do. Half an hour might be cutting it a bit
fine so you might want to leave before 8 if you want to catch that one. I
don't anticipate it being a long dinner and if you can let me know (sometime
on 13th) when you need to leave I'll make sure Bob & John are aware if you
are leaving early.

Thanks again - can't promise this'll be the last e-mail from me but that is
the end of the favours.

Rachel

Rachel,

For chairing the session on UK challenges Chris Rapley from BAS, Philip
Wright from the Scottish Executive or Tom Burke from Rio Tinto would all be
possibles. I would rather not do this one as well as the later panel.

I plan to attend the dinner on the Wed. night and could also plan to attend
the Thursday night dinner, but would need to leave for Norwich that evening
(8pm?).

See you next week.

Mike
