Sarah and Mike,

I personally do NOT want anyone else developing software that overlaps
MAGICC/SCENGEN. I would also be extremely annoyed if Tyndall should
support work that is clearly our territory; or even if Tyndall/Hulme
should encourage such work. Indeed, Mike should contact this person and
point out that his behaviour is quite intolerable. At the very least it
breaches the bounds of normal scientific etiquette.

Mike, from what Sarah copied to me, this guy seems to think he is
producing something consistent with the TAR. This is unlikely. As he
is apparently working with Jesper G. (who I know) he must have Jesper's
version of the UD model, which is similar to ours -- but clearly not our
code.

Given that I developed a fair fraction of the MAGICC/SCENGEN concept and
code it seems odd that he should copy peripheral people on his doings
but not me -- rude and ignorant. Just who is he? Was he at UEA
previously?

Tell me what you know and I will contact Jesper.

For MAGICC/SCENGEN, I am still unsure about whether we want a web
version (which I presume is the goal of this Matthews person).

Tom.
