Dear Sarah

Working Group III are going to hold some meetings on emission scenarios in
2005 as described briefly below and are looking for us to nominate someone
who would act on a meeting program committee and provide some linkage with
WG1.

Susan and I think that you would be the most appropriate person given your
previous work in this area and the fact that if any new emission scenarios
need to be considered in WG1 then you are very likely to be closely
involved with that.

At this stage we would not want to make any assumptions as to what chapter
10 will include in this regard, because that needs further discussion by
the chapter team and has some broader implications for the rest of WG1. But
we would like to nominate you as the WG1 person for the program committee
so that we keep all options open. Presumably serving on the committee means
a commitment to attend the two meetings in January and June/July.

We realize that this involves additional work on your part and that you
will have many other calls on your time. However, we would be most grateful
if you would be prepared to do this for us - please let me know.

Regards
Martin
