   Hi Mike,

We had a meeting of the Social and Ethical Action Group last week. At it, we realised that
neither Gill or myself had replied to your message below, so apologies for that. Your offer
of help is very much appreciated.

What we have done is to download the initial Check Up Module from the Eco-congregations
website and are attempting to find out what Trinity currently does in this sphere. There
was certainly some interest within the group in looking at this, but I don't yet know how
far people want to take it.

If you want to be kept informed, then feel free to let one of us know.

   Thanks again,

   Richard

   Dear All,
If people are interested in following up on Eco-congregations I have 1-2 sheets already
about this and have also talked with the co-ordinator of the project (David Pickering I
think) - Eco-congregations also backed the Oxford Declaration on Global Warming.
I would be happy to talk further with anyone about whether or not there is an initiative
   here Trinity might take.

     Dear Gillian and Richard,

You may or not have read Mike Hulme's article in the current magazine about climate
change. I am alert to the obligation that congregations have to model change in this
area, and, when I was on my Windsor course, I came across the Church of Scotlands
"Society, Religion and Technology" project on "Eco-congregations". I know that I do not
have the time to do very much to promote eco-change, but it strikes me as prime
territory for the Social Action Group. I commend to you the website:
[1]http://dspace.dial.pipex.com/srtscot/ecocongs.htm and I'll look forward to reading
any minutes of the group, to see whether it's something that could apply to us.

     Best wishes,
     Sincerely,

     Alan
