   Hi Phil,
   Do you recall...when we did our LIA paper in The Holocene there was a critique (by Mike
   Schlesinger, I think) of the technique we used--averaging normalised data.  I can not
   reconstruct what the point was-do you recall?
   I'm not sure if this was ever published as a criticism, or if it just came up via
   email--again, anything you can do to jog my memory would be helpful.
   I think I asked you about this once before which only goes to show that my memory is
   getting ever weaker...
