        'Global Warning',
      establishes West Norfolk Green Party

Coming Saturday 14.07.2001, 1pm, at Greyfriars Primary School, main Hall,
Kings Lynn, the Green Party principal speaker Margret Wright will speak
on the future of East Anglia under sea level rises.
The meeting will hear from Ron Bailey from the Association for Egenrgy
Conservation, how important renewable energy generation is for all of us.
There will be a speaker from Norfolk Green Party pointing out the main
policies and aims of the Green Party.
This will be followed by a Norfolk Green Party meeting, establishing a West
Norfolk Green Party, enabling interested members and providing political
focus in an environmentally active region of Norfolk.

Prof. Tim O'Riordan, from UEA's School for Environmental Science commented
on the subject of temperature and sea level rise.
He said: " The climate of the future is what we make it.
According to the IPCC, ( International Panel On Climate Change) the world can
expect a rise in temperature as large as 6 degrees by 2100, or as little as
2.5 degree's centigrade. The difference between temperature forcasts depends
on the society's and the economies we create within the next 30 years.
Within the lifetime of one generation, our children will experience sea level
rises by either 50 centimeters or as low as 20 centimeters above current sea
levels, reflecting a temperature rise of 2.3 degrees or 1.2 degrees
respectively. Take your pick , its up to all of us."
