Hi Phil, I managed to back myself into a debate after all and am 
agonizing over it.
Pat Michaels wants to go after the historical context ie a ice free 
arctic not being unusual.
should I just fall ill? do you know about ice free arctic in 
paleoclimatic context? do we have arctic
proxies?
