   Andrew,
Glad you're keen to join us. As a private individual we would cover expenses, but if you
can come in some CGNU capacity then all the better - CGNU may see this as a strategic
activity to be associated with and want you to 'represent' them.

     Dear Mike,
I have just received your formal invitation, and before I reply formally I am
trying to find out if CGNU/Norwich Union will also be supportive once I retire
on November 23rd, as it would be useful to have their backing. In any event I
want to accept this offer, but politically I would like to mention it here
     first.
I will not be seeking another job once I retire, but I want to be involved in
Climate Change and also economic exclusion from financial services , which is
certainly relevant to Climate Change, so the Advisory Board is an excellent fit
     for me.
Given that I will be a private individual, what is the likely position re
     expenses?
Will get back to you asap
     Andrew
