Hi Phil:

I'm not taking overall slowness as any guide/leeway for me personally. I want to get a draft to Caspar within a week if at all possible.

THere really seems to be the possibility of a sea-change here in the US with the release of the IPCC SPM (AR4). There is overall readiness in the populace. I am more hopeful in this way than in many years. Time will tell -- one way or the other!

Peace, Gene

  Gene,
The paper is progressing slowly. I have bits on coral and will
get ice cores soon. I have something from Mike, but
nothing else so far. I am trying to push people here -
Keith and Tim - but having little success.
Mike has tried to chivvy Gavin and Caspar, but I haven't
  seen any results yet.

  Cheers
  Phil
