Dear Mike

We have been talking about possible names for the Advisory Board
- it would be good to have someone with a clear transport interest
on it.

Possibilities we have come up with are:

Stephen Joseph, director of Transport 2000 the leading pressure
group on transport and the environment

David Bayliss former head of planning at London Transport and now
working for consultants Halcrow Fox

John Welsby former chairman of the British Railways Board and
now President of the Institute of Logistics and Transport

Christopher Foster, who is on the Board of the RAC and Railtrack
and a former professor and Chief Transport Economist at the then
Ministry of Transport

Let me know if you would like me to approach any of them.

Chris
